Question Popping joints?

So I don't know if I am being over protective or what. So this morning when we got up Thumpers back leg popped. It has been doing it enough today for me to notice. It is not hurting him or causing any problems. He has been running around like a fool dog like he does everyday. I have been making sure not to let him jump off of stuff, I carry him on stairs, ect. I looked at the leg a few times today and it feels fine and I moved it and it popped once and he didn't react at all.

He has a vet appt on friday for his shots and I am going to have the vet look at it. Could this be just from him growing or something more serious? Anyone have any ideas that I could ask my vet about?
