Keeping him calm after neutering

Schmoozer got neutered today. As I expected, I am supposed to keep him calm. No running, fetching, jumping, swimming, etc. Also as I expected this looks like it's going to be very hard. They commented when I picked him that he was already fairly energetic. He is a very energetic pup. Tonight he's fully perked up. he keeps bringing me toys to throw. he's playing with toys. He's pretty good at creating his own games that allow him to run around, jump, etc. He will even throw his own toys and chase them. Tonights only the first night and he's already full of energy and active. It's been a long time since I got my last pup neutered and I know it wasn't easy (puppies have energy) but he certainly wasn't bouncing around like this the same night as his neuter

So, how do I keep him mellow? Any tips

yes.

I suppose that makes sense. he sleeps in it at night, with the door off. he's been such a well behaved dog I stopped using it. It would be easy enough to put the door back on.

hmmm...
