Exclamation Metacam / Constipation

My poor Mochi was spayed on Thurs. She's been recovering great. She seems like her normal self.

The only problem is, its friday night now and she hasn't had a bowel movement since we brought her back.

She ate a meal on thursday, and she ate 1 meal tonite. And i've been feeding her bits and pieces of treats and kibble through out the day. Not more than her normal share though.

She has gone pee though.

I don't know if its the anti-inflammitory (Metacam) the vet gave or if its because of the surgery. I'm calling the vet tomorrow.

Is this normal for puppies not to have bowel movement after spaying? She has really smelling farts though.. ugh...

Good to hear. Sometimes surgery will knock their schedules off.

Re: Metacam / Constipation

Sometimes after anesthesia, it's normal if they don't have a bowel movement for a few days, as long as they're not strainging or trying to go. Plus, with fasting before & after surgery, there's not as much "in there" to pass.
