Unhappy Personality Change...

hi there,

My Chihuahua, Tako, was very hyper and outgoing ever since the first day i brought him home. He has been living with us (3 other dogs) for quite a while... i think 4 months or 5 months. He suddenly became very quiet, lonely, and is always sitting/sleeping at the corner of the cage. He doesn't jump and act happy whenever i am near the cage, like the other dogs. Can someone advise me on this? Tako eats and drink normally. Its toileting stuff are normal... I'm not sure whether my dog is sick or going through some kind of emotional problem... Thank you!

Re: Personality Change...

Any time there are sudden, unexplained changes in behavior, the first thing I suspect is an underlying medical condition.

The only way that can be ruled out is with a vet check. It's important that the vet knows why you're concerned so they can run the appropriate lab panels.

Once health issues have been ruled out, then you can explore other possibilities.

Hi RoNe, Thank you for your advice. I'm taking Tako to the vet tomorrow right away. My boyfriend thinks that Tako is acting weird because he isn't sterile... There are other female dogs in the cage with him and we discourage the male dogs to do their thing with the girls. ^^ll Maybe that's what keeping him quiet? OH well, we'll ask the vet tomorrow ^^ THanks! I'll let you know what's going on in my next post! God bless~

Re: Personality Change...

are either or both genders fixed? if not, keeping males and females unfixed in the same cage is an accident waiting to happen.
