Bleeding gums

This afternoon during playtime I discovered some blood on Spunky's Kong. It wasn't very much, just a couple of tiny smears, but it was definitely blood.

She'll be 10 in July, been on a raw diet for about a month, on which she eats 50-100g of raw bone daily. I recently introduced fish bone to her diet - her activity level and stools are normal. She gnawed away at the Kong and her daily bone without any sign of pain or discomfort.

I sat her down and looked over her teeth - she didn't like that very much, but I didn't find anything. I also ran my fingers over her back teeth that I couldn't see, and didn't find any blood.

Should I be worried? What should I look out for before I know a vet visit is due?

Re: Bleeding gums

It is probably nothing, possibly an accident while chewing the Kong. Or maybe she has a slight case of gingivitis.

When is her next vet visit? I would have her mouth checked at that time. As dogs get older things happen. http://www.peteducation.com/article....&articleid=379
