Dasuquin substitute?

Hi group. My 5-year-old golden retriever, Casey, has had ligament surgery on both rear legs within the past year. She's been prescribed Dasuquin as a joint health supplement. Problem is, it's very expensive. Does anyone know of any over-the-counter supplement that provides the same benefits? Thanks for any help you can give!

Re: Dasuquin substitute?

I've purchased it online through ebay for about 60 bucks for 150 pills (large dogs). I've just started using it, but a friend of mine, who happens to be a vet, said her dogs all stopped limping (arthritis)... and are doing so much better. I'm hoping to be able to use Dasuquin and slowly reduce the amount of NSAIDs my pooch is getting. So far I've only heard good things, worth a try.

Good luck.
