hi fellow dog owners, i just got my dog today from thes people and he pooed today it didnt look normal. it wasnt solid and it had white things moving i was wondering can it be a sign of worms? because the place where he was staying before wasnt so good... ohhh and i think the unsolid poop is a sign of stress... i'll have to see in a couple of days since he just got home from a car ride and hes about 3 month olds.. hes a maltepoo. his name is pookie by the way.. thanks for your help guys/girls
"Moving things" in the poop is a pretty good indicator of worms. But there are different kinds. If the dog has worms, then he needs to see a vet right away. If you can, take a fecal sample with you. Not only will the worms not go away, the dog can also infect other dogs.
no im taking him tomorrow... was tooo busy today :\ i hope nothing is wrong with him... me and my girlfriend love him to death and its only been 2 days since we got him
Moving white things in the poop is probably either tapeworms or roundworms, but regardless, you want to get a fecal parasite test done on any puppy because intestinal parasites are very common in pups and there isn't just one wormer that can kill all parasites. A general check up is a good idea too for any pup. Be sure to take a fresh (within 4 hours, or up to 8 hours in the fridge) stool sample with you.
