problems going potty

In the past two days our 1yr old boxer has been having problems going potty. She seems to be squating for a long amt of time and 4-5 times compaired to once. This morning she really seemed uncomfortable because nothing was coming out no matter how long or how hard she tried. Could this be an infection or blockage? Should I get her in to the vet asap or is there a simple trick to get her flowing again? Any help would be much appreciated as I've never had anything like this in all the years of having dogs.

Take her to the vet this morning. It is very likely a bladder infection, and she will most likely need antibiotics. If you can manage to get a sample before you take her in, that's good, but even if not, bring her in, they will get the sample, and it is probably not going to be too hard to clear it up with the right meds.

It sounds like blockage. She might need a enema. I would take her to the vet. Is she a long haired dog? Sometimes if they got lots of hair around the butt they have fieses stuck around the butt and that hurts and she wont go potty until her butts been washed. My cockerspaniel had this issue.

Definaly time for a vet!
If she has a bladder infection there are cranberry suppliments you can give her to help. I would also continue to give her the suppliments to prevent future problems
