Unhappy Major problem!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!HELP!

Hi I'm new on this forum. Anyway I have a huge problem with my shih tzu. After getting a cat I figured out she has worms in her belly. So I took them both to the vet. He gave them a dewormer. My cat is feeling great, but my dog is horrible. He was throwing up since them (saturday). He's been pooping all over the place. The worst part happened today. In the morning he couldn't move at all! He's very weak and it looked as if he was paralized. Do you know what might have happened? Did the doctor make a mistake by giving him the dewarmer? My mom cried all day because she thought we'd have to put him down. I'm so worried right now. He can't walk and whines whenever he wants to get up. We're taking him to the vet today or tomorrow, though I don't know what to expect. What do you think? Please help!
Thanks

Take him today, not tomorrow, if he is that sick ! Let the vet figure out if this has anything to do with a dewormer, which it may not have. Why wait until tomorrow is he can hardly walk?

Shih tzu

I think you should get him to the vet, now! And maybe not the same vet. Have you called a vet to ask them what could be happening? Oh my goodness, I hope your dog is okay! I don't have any answers as to what might going on. Sorry. I think this is an emergency! Even if the vet is closed. Please post when you find out Nancy

Well right now he seems to be better. I took him for a walk and he even ran.....it's just he has a hard time getting up the couch....maybe my parents overreacted because they said he was paralized in the morning, but as I'm observing him he actually moves pretty good. I have him some rice and he doesn't throw up anymore. I figured I WILL wait the night and if he can't move tomorrow morning or if he'll whine at night I'll take him to the emergency doctor. I'll still post tomorrow and tell u what he says. Thanks for the concern though....I hope he'll be okay now.

did you get 2 separate wormers, one for the dog and one for the cat? are you sure that the dog got the right one? i do believe that a dog cannot have a wormer that is intended for cats and vice-versa.....
