Yeasty ears, quick question for breeders or others

I'll try to do a quick summary here, Ella has yeasty ears, no big surprise given she's on antibiotics for a UTI. It's just starting, with distinctive odor and slight redness. Yes, we're doing organic yogurt loaded with pro-biotics added to her regular food while on antibiotics, but apparently it's not enough. My obnoxious greedy vets want me to bring her in to culture it even tho I've been grooming for 16+ yrs., have treated numerous yeasty ears in my own dogs with tresaderm, ALWAYS bring my dogs straight to them and never complain about endless vet bills whenever there's any iota of question in my mind about what's going on or treatment question. I am 100% positive this is yeast, I know what yeasty ears smell like, it's certainly a distinctive odor. I just can't see spending an extra $60 for an office visit and more for a culture when I know I just need a bottle of tresaderm. So, my question is, would you treat with a vinegar solution or blue power ear wash?? I was hesitant to post this question b'cause I don't want people with less knowledge treating at home when it really should be a vet visit, so that in mind feel free to pm me your recommendation. Thank You

Re: Yeasty ears, quick question for breeders

we had the same issue with connor.....
we used the blue power ear wash and it was about the same time that we switched to a raw diet so I think it was a combination of things....

what was funny is that my vet had sold us some panalog a couple weeks previous but it didn't work.... so we tried the blue wash..... and a few weeks later we went back to the vet and my vet Tom was so Thrilled about how great connors ears looked and we didn't have the heart to tell him that it wasn't his beloved panalog that did the trick

The blue powder earwash will get rid of yeast infection, bacterial infection, and a combo of the two. The stuff is fabulous!
