after the pups have gone

hi from the UK. my dog had pups, the owner kept the pups and gave mum away. then the new owner gave her to me. her nipples are still very visible when do they reduce? and is there anything i should be aware of in her recovery. i will be taking her to the vets to sort out jabs and having her sterilised etc but i need info now really. anyone advise?? thanks

i had a chow that had pups and died and the vet gave her a shot to dry her up.that was the first time i had heard of that in animals..

we don't know when she had them, info is sketchy. i'm told she did finish weaning them and the last owner had her 2 months or less which is why i'm surprised to see her nipples so obvious. i spoke to the vets today and they said maybe she is pregnant again, they will check for that when i take her

I hope she isnt pregnant. I would do an emergency spay if she is.
And yes there are things you can do to help her nipples tuck back up.
Lots of vigorous exercise helps. But there is no guarantee she will ever look normal. She may always have some sag. Genetics plays a part in this as well.
