| Re: A Good Vet I'm not from your area, but I do have some advice on this one, since I have had more than my share of bad vets (7 over the past 16 years to be exact). Fortunately, I now have a superb vet.
I suggest you ask friends, dog groomers, pet shops, or any other pet related service. Pet shops that have high end healthy type products would be a great recourse.
Ask questions when you first call, make a list of things you want to ask. Get a first impression, this is always very important.
You mention UTI issues, ask what the procedure is going to be dealing with this, get specifics, compare what is said with what is currently being done, then research. Take the upper hand with this and educate yourself about this and all other issues that have to do with your dog.
I have been dealing with UTI issues for almost 18 months. It is an extremely frustrating experience. I hesitate to say much because I don't want to jinks things (all is well right now) but consider switching to a hypo allergic diet (venison and potato is best) and cleaning at least twice a day with non scented baby wipes, especially just before bed. Doing this has had a very positive impact on my dog.
Good luck!
