Does your schnauzer need to have it's ears cut? I've always thought intact ears were cute on a schnauzer. I didn't have a choice with Elsa since she was a rescue, but given the choice, I would have left them intact. In fact, cropped ears is not a breed standard, and only in the U.S. are cropped ears accepted in the show ring. I'm pretty certain this is correct. Plus, the breeder of the pup should have had the ears cropped before you purchased him/her. Sorry, I can't help, but I do advise otherwise. BTW, welcome to our forum.

I am very much against it. It's painfull, and there's no need to have it done. Although, in some breeds, it is a standard if they are going to be shown, but as Curbside said, it is not, incfact, a breed standard for the Schnauzer.

Cropping the ears is a difficult thing to deal with - it takes a lot of time and effort on your part to keep those ears wrapped and standing upright.

if it's for no reason other than looks, I would leave it :P
