Unhappy My Dog named Archie is sick

My dog named Archie is sick. He hasnt been eating in a very long time, and he slumps around. He is a medium size terrier mix, and is a little over weight yet is built rough. Well hes been limping and stumbling and would actually fall down occasionally and couldnt get up. We took him to the vet where the vet said he was fine and nothing wrong that was serious. I listened to his heart one time when he was sleeping and it sounded eratic and had fluid in there. Also his stool was pitch black and runny and some times we would leave and come back and it would look like soil spilled onto the ground but it was stool. SO like i said before he wont eat and is falling and limping. Any suggestions or answers on wut this could be or is. Thanks alot, im really worried for the little guy.

I don't have any answers to what it could be, but have you considered taking him to another vet? The conditions you described don't at all sound like anything normal, and if your first vet did not offer anything more, I would never go back to them. Call the state veterinary medical association (VMA) for specialist referrals in your location. Or, the AVMA (http://www.avma.org) also has state veterinary medical association contact information online. Good luck, and welcome to our forum.

Yes, all these symptoms could have been caused by kidney failure. But all these symptoms could have happened with liver failure, or heart failure, or a host of other diseases too, which is why the dog really should have gone to a proper vet to be diagnosed, properly treated, and possibly saved.
