Exclamation progressively bad x-rays, on meds..help!

I have a 7 mo. papillon who has been coughing and hacking for 2.5 months now. She has been on medicine this entire time and her x-rays are progressively getting worse. There is white stuff in her lungs and her outline of her heat(next to her lung) is no longer visible on the xray. In addition to this her trachea is in a wave shape and adversly hindering her esophagus. The doctors are at a loss and quite frankly I am as well. Does anyone know anything about any of these syptoms? I need all the help I can get. I am 20 years old and slowly running out of options. Please help

sorry

I am sorry to hear of the problem she is having. Are your vets state-of-the-art vets or do you use a " discount" type place? If you trust your vets, and they are working on it to your satisfaction, the sad news is that this could be a congenital problem for which there is little hope. If you are not sure of your vet's experience etc I would get her to another vet, preferably an AAHA acredited hospital, bring the xrays and a printout of her records, and see what someone else has to say. It does not sound good, I hope I'm wrong. It sounds rather like congenital heart failure, and the aesophogus problem could be a second situation that can make it worse for her. But please be sure you are getting the best vet advice and care you can.
