Salt and dogs

A little over a week ago the roads were salted, I have heard that you should wipe your dogs paws off after they walk on it. But since the road was salted over a week ago, Snoopy has only had a walk since the salting yesterday as its been to cold to go out. Should I be wiping his paw pads off even though the roads haven't been treated since last week?

briteday is on a distinguished road
Re: Salt and dogs

Personally I would. Even if they salted a few days ago there is most likely residue on the sidewalks and roads. I think it's better to be safe. I keep a box of baby wipes by the door for feet and, well... whatever needs to be taken care of as they come in!

Re: Salt and dogs

Yea, there is still residue on it as the roads are still white and you can see salt on the sides of the road. Thanks for the info!

Re: Salt and dogs

I know it's not the same thing, but Ollie appeared fine after being in the Ocean. I did not think much of it at the time. But I think I'll be a bit more careful about that from now on.
