try not to worry

Sobreeze, try not to worry. A vaccine reaction is not uncommon, a 7 way shot has a lot in it and depending on his age, some dogs are a bit under the weather after them for a day or two, or they will get a huge tissue swelling where the vaccine was given.

The anaesthetics which are used nowadays are good, and there are far more machines etc for monitoring than there used to be in vet hospitals, and if you trust your vet, don't fret. All brachycephalic breeds are usually watched more carefully anyway, because of those shortened forefaces and shorter throats, but again, like I say, if your vet is a good and experienced one, I would not worry. Its not uncommon for male puppies to retain a testicle especially in the smaller breeds, most vets have had plenty of experience with this. It really does need to come out.

Just curious. He just had his 7 way shot now, and he will be neutered in 2 months. How old is the puppy?

Yes, it sounds like you are right on for the vaccine protocol and that's the right time to neuter him too, at around 6 months old. I hope you did tell the vet about the reaction, they will note that in his chart for sure. I expect you did and they told you to give the Benadryl. I love Bostons !
