Advice/help would be great

So after all this time, we think we've narrowed down our search. The number one friend on our list is Duke, a schnauzer/terrier mix. Recently, we found out from the rescue group that has him that one of his back legs was acting up and when they took him in to the vet, the vet said the there had been a small fracture but it had calcified and there was nothing they could do. He's not in any pain, he'll just limp for the rest of his life. My question is, has anyone ever heard of this? We plan on contacting a vet to ask them the same question, but I was wondering if there was anyone on here with experience in this area. We've been told that there shouldn't be any problems until he's much older (he's only six months). I'm just a little skeptical. Of course, we're prepared to take care of vet bills but we're afraid that this could turn into a twelve or thirteen year old problem and are just wondering if he'd be happier with someone who had the resources for that. Thanks.

Well, I'm not too familiar with fractures and if there are remedies. It's definitely a good idea to ask a vet. I think it would depend on where the fracture is. I would also think that it could be cleaned up with a surgery, if its not in a sensitive area.
