Question Lump on Chest

Hi everyone, I have a problem with my 8 yr old Shih Tzu. She have a lump on her chest. It's not hard and it moves. I'm so afraid that it could be cancer. Anyone else ever had this kind of lump on their dog? She's a happy lovable dog. Sometimes she vomits (yellow color). That has been going on since she was a pup. She's not listless. She sleeps alot. I love her so bad that I am scared to take her to the vet about this problem. Thanks for letting me vent.

My advice to you is to take her to the vet as soon as you get the chance. You don't want to wait to long if it is cancer cause then it could spread (i am not trying to freak you out).

Let me know how it goes. Private Message me! I would really like to know what it is!

It is very likely a lipoma, or fatty lump. They tend to feel softish, and can usually be moved a bit. However, you should not leave this undiagnosed. If it is a cancer, the faster you get on it, the better. You will make things worse for her and yourself if you wait. Get it diagnosed. Often the vets can tell just by feeling it and looking at the surrounding tissues. If it is cancer and you don't waste time, they can probably just remove it and hopefully it won't have had a chance to spread. But you have to get on it. Don't let your fear, possibly cost her her life.

If it's soft, and squishy, and moves around, then it usually isn't a problem.

Mine has had the sae thing, and I was in panic because I thought it was cancer, but it turned out to be a suture, floating around.

Gavette is right..lipoma/a fatty tumor. Those can be drained I believe. I t could also be an abcess, which definately needs to be drained of fluids.

Keep us posted!
