One year old and still has not gone into heat

My Jack Russell is a year old and she is yet to go into heat! I don't want to breed her or anything, but I was afraid this may be a health issue!

My friends' miniature pinscher just had her first heat....she is 14 months old. I think the average age is 6-12 months and sometimes even later for large breeds. If you are concerned about it I would just give the vet a call and ask.
