Feminine Doggy Issue

I'll just say it.... my fixed 6mo Great Dane has odorless white vaginal discharge.

I realize female humans do this too (duh), but my Golden doesn't have that (or maybe I don't notice because she has long hair?).

I just didn't want to pay $40 for a vet to tell me it's normal for females.

Any thought?

Is your golden fixed? and is your dane fixed?

Most likey she is going through her heat cycle. Though 6 months is a bit early for a large breed dog, you should contact her breeder and find out what the normal age is for her dogs to go into heat.

If your dane is fixed then she shouldn't be having any sort of vaginal discharge. Time to take her to the vet and have her looked at, $40 bucks isn't that much for piece of mind. Best to try and get her seen tonight or tommorow, before it's thanksgiving.

Re: Feminine Doggy Issue

I agree with animalcraker, it could be an infection of some sorts, best to have the vet check it out. I wouldn't think that was normal at all, none of my female fixed dogs had discharge, and since she doesn't have a uterus anymore, I would wonder where it's coming from...might be a really bad UTI or something, so yeah, definetely time to see the vet.
