Help!!!!!

I found a cocker spaniel/mix wandering by my work last week. Couldn't find the owner so me and my wife took her in. Now, tonight we took her to the vets to get a check up. Blood work was negative. So the Vet suggested we get her a rabies shot and a distemper/lyme combo shot. So we did. Now, roughly 4 hours later her snout/facial area is noticably swelled and her breathing has become slightly labored......she keeps panting. What should i do??????? Is this normal after all these shots at once?....HELP!!!

Re: Help!!!!!

Call your vet, I am surprised all shots were given at one time as some vets (mine included) wait AT LEAST a week between shots. This is definitely worth a call to your vet, they may prescribe an over the counter antihistamine or something else. Good luck and keep us posted.

Re: Help!!!!!

Call anyway they usually have an answering service that will page your vet. Or they can refer you to an E-Vet

I agree, most vets have a pager where they will call you back--it is worth a try--if not, usually their answering service can recommend you to an E-Vet. Again, keep us posted

Re: Help!!!!!

You need to get her to a vet NOW!! she's having a vaccine reaction and needs imediate medical attention to stop/reverse the reaction before it gets worse. And if your regular vet is closed then you need to take her to the nearest E-vet.
