How long befor the babies come??

I work at the SPCA and we just got in a female rotti X that is VERY preggo. We thought she was about two weeks away from having her babies but two days ago she started showing bigger boobies and then last night she started to have this mucus stuff coming out of her whoowhoo (i know im using such great medical terms)....She is very underweight for being a mama to be but im worried that its been three days and there are no babies yet??? She has been panting alot, but not like hardcore panting just like if she had just ran alot... this is my first experience in pregnancy in the shelter (since ive just been there for a little longer then 2 weeks) and ive never seen a dog go into labour out side of the shelter either...im a little worried about her

anyone that has experience please any info would help me understand the labour and delivery process with dogs

(and yes i will have pictures of the new babies with mommy!!)

I've had a bit of experience with pregnant dogs, and seriously I dont think any of them leaked prior to being in active labor or panted except while in the process of delivering. I hope you've either had pups by now or have taken this dog to a vet?

I know that usually about a week after the mammaries began to fill up we'd have a litter, and often a day or so before the pups were born we'd see a bit of leaking milk. However if the dam is in poor condition, you might not have that.

no she hasnt had the pups yet, but we took her to the vet (shes at teh shelter where iw ork )and everything looks normal...however she went into a foster home (who is gonna adopt her after this is all over!!) and today when i phoned to see how she was her boobies are REALLY swollen and so is her WHOOWHOO and shes lactating..soooo it should be any time now
