| Has anyone had any experience with Vestibular Disease in a blind dog?
My mini schnauzer is turning 13 this week. She is blind, has a history of acute pancreatitis (which is currently under control) and was diagnosed about 10 days ago with vestibular disease. She was in the hospital for the first 4 days on fluids. Because she's blind I think she is more disoriented. She knew her way around the house before, but now I have to crate her for fear that she'll hurt herself.
She is still circling a lot but her eyes have stopped the rapid movement. She is eating and drinking well. She was on meclizine and took the last pill this morning. Has anyone ever given their dog Bonine? Has the same amount of meclizine in a tablet .25 as the percription.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I hoped she would be better by now! |
