Figures... Ft. Huachuca is one of the places I'm applying for positions.... Guess I just better be prepared to have a water cooler delivered.

As for the Expedition or Denali - I think the Denali is the bigger one and you'd have plenty of room but the gas will kill ya!

Re: Moving acclimation

With my Per Diem being what it will be with the 2 kids at $125 a day plus $0.20 per mile (rental has unlimited mileage) I think it won't be too bad...If I get approximately 15 MPG the 20 cents per mile pays for the fuel no problem. Otherwise I'd be having to leave my pets in AZ...and that's the last thing I want to do, so I'll take my 15% discount on the rental and take a tank of a vehicle, lol. Would have been nice if they'd picked somewhere closer like Ft Carson, Colorado...then making 2 trips wouldn't be so bad...but 3000 miles across the US...I'm making 1 trip and no more, haha.
Ft Huachuca is ok from a DoD Civilian standpoint...for AD, it sucks. Houses are expensive here too, so if you plan on buying be forewarned. Apartments are hard to come by, depending on when you are leaving, putting in for one within a couple of months of leaving is a good idea, or you'll be out of luck for an instant ready apartment when you get here...I spent 6 months on a waiting list for a studio back when I was single, larger apartments were even longer at that time, not sure what the market is like now.
