Question My Poodle is burping

Hello:

My 2 yo mini poodle has been burping slightly since Monday. She would do this every so often. What could be the cause of this and should I worry? She doesn't bring anything up yet although she did Sunday. She eats and is still active . She had the scoots last night a little. Gave her a little bit of Pepto and that was it. She was fine. She stills has the burps it seems like. I would like to avoid a trip to the vet if it's not serious and what can I do to help my Sadie get rid of the burps? Replys would be grateful! Thnxs

All dogs burp, toot, and get the hiccups just like people. Have you been feeding her anything unusual, especially from the table? I find that occasionally when I give my pups something odd or different they will get the toots. They get the hiccups quite frequently. What does her stool look like lately? David

Hi David:

My mom gives her some cereal at night sometimes. Nutting unusual. I give her oatmeal and cheerios at times too. Also some of my cooked egg at breakfast time. I made homemade peanut butter treats recently and have been giving her them but she hasn't burp while eating them in the past. Her stool yesterday was half firm half loose. This morning she seems fine. Thanxs for the reply.

Re: My Poodle is burping

I think it's pretty common, especially if your dog "wolfs" food down like mine do...my male basset can belch like none other...I even blamed my husband for it once and he goes "no, that was your dog"...pretty impressive actually. If you're really worried, have a vet check your dog out...

Re: My Poodle is burping

I have a standard poodle that actually belches like a man--it is funny--out of no where this loud burp will come out. Had our annual checkup this past Thursday--vet says it is good he burps and releases the gas.

Yep, got a 2yr old Golden Retriever who burps so loud that our 9yr old insists that she should learn to say "excuse me" and can that dog clear a room with her toots!

Smile Sadie is better

Thanks everyone...

Sadie is doing better.
Her burps went away.
She had gotten into butter the other day somehow.
She also in hales her food so that could cause it too.
