Tyyroid Tumor Medications?

Hi, I have an 11 year old sheltie. A few weeks ago I noticed a large tumor on his neck just below the collar line. This is rather large about golf ball size. In 4 weeks it has not grown or become smaller. I took him to a dog cancer specialist who stated surgery would not work and to start chemo and radition and MRI work. ABout 9k worth of threatment. As of this writing he has not been diagnosed him with cancer, seems the vet. is a bit to busy to call me with the results once I mentioned they might be some other alturnatives to chemo etc. I noticed on the web there are many over the counter type treatment medications. I have ordered a hnadful but can anyone tell me if they have used any of these with results? This is his only tumor and he would most likly not survive the vets treatment. Many many thanks in advance for your comments and advice, Jim

Thyroid Medicine

Hello Jim,
Sorry I don't have advice for the tumor part of your question. I just had my 13 year old lab put to sleep. He was taking "L-thyroxin" for his thyroid problem and I have about 800 .2mg pills left. If you need them, I will send them to you-free, of course-it just seems silly to let them go to waste. Let me know if you are interested and I will give you my contact info. Good luck.
