How can I tell it's a tick?

Hi everyone! There's this unidentifiable, white, tiny (sesame seed-sized), hardish bump on my dog's skin. She's ten years old, and has yet to get a tick, so I have no experience with the matter. I tried to pull it out gently w/ tweezers, but then I really didn't make any progress. Upon closer inspection, although with her wiggling and its tininess it's hard to see, it didn't seem to have legs or resemble an insect. I don't know if it's a tick or something else. Would I definitely know if it's a tick? What should I do? Thanks!

When in doubt, make an appointment to have it checked at your vets. I know of one owner who to be a skin tag that she ripped off the dog. She wondered why it bleed so much.
