Help Me Please!

hi i am new to this dog owner thing. but i have alot of questions or shall i say i need almost everything to know about "dog shot". ummmm, where do i start? well the puppy i've just got is about 8 weeks old. it's half jack russel,half fox terrier. well, i need to know what the shot are? what kinda shots are needed? time intervals? nessesary shots? and so on. etc,etc,etc,etc. PLEASE HELP me i'd really appriciate it anyone could get back to me with some info. MAHALO!

Try giving your vet a call and ask them when your dog should have his shots. If you adopted your dog from a Humane Society, they should have given you a paper that shows what shots the dog has had. But either way, your vet would know what to do, I believe.

I agree, talk to your vet. Everyone has different opinions on what shots are needed and when.

I give the puppy series (Distemper/Parvo every 4wks until pup is 16wks (8wks, 12wks, 16wks)). I give Rabies at 1 yr (rabies is hard on a dog's system, so I dont like to give it before 1yr, although many vets push it at 4 months). After that, I only give Rabies every 3yrs, no other shots.

This has worked for my dogs, but you need to talk to your vet and discuss your options. I personally do not like to over-vaccinate my dogs, but it is common practice
