Question recently neutered dog has diarreah

My husky/GSD mix has been home from the vet now for 7 days and has had only soft stool diarreah since hes come home. He is 5 months old and a very hyper boy! He is currently on Purina Beneful puppy chow. Is there any relation between the surgery and the bowel movements or could it possibly be the food?

The surgery anethesia aspects would have passed by now. MY guess is the food .. You need a more digestable food. Try solid gold etc. or look up nutrition here.. If the dog has been to the vet and clear of infection as that will cause a loose stool- look at the diet..

Re: recently neutered dog has diarreah

Hello-
It is not unusual for a dog to have this reaction to anesthesia. Usually a little milk thistle after an operation helps clear the toxins. Having said that,
sometime loose stools has to do with the amount you are feeding the dog. It sometimes means you are feeding too much. A little plain canned pumpkin in his food can help firm things up. You may want to check out this site to educate yourself about dog food.

I hope posting a helpful link is not against the rules. If it is, please remove it and I'm sorry.

Hope that helps.
