swollen under eye

my 11 year old irish setter was fine when i left for work this morning,but when i came home at teatime i noticed she looked swollen under her left eye over her cheek bone ,it doesnt feel too hard to touch. i have an appointment with the vet in the morning just wondered if anyone has any ideas what it could be.

I had a similar type thing with a greyhound - a bump that appeared in just a few hours just below her eye, kinda on her cheek. Turns out it was a bug bite, but since the dog was slated to head to her new home in Canada the next day, I had a vet check it out to make sure that's all it was. It's kinda hard to even say what it is/could be via the internet and not being able to actually see it. Going to your vet, as you have already planned, is the best course of action.

had eilish to the vets and its an abcess in her tooth. the vet gave her antibiotics and something that will take the swelling down. she said shed leave it up to us whether to have har tooth out.im quite scared about her going under anaesthetic at her age , how i hate it when my dogs are ill.shes very perky now and having her tablets inside turkish delight so of course the other dogs (eilish's sister brenna and 2 rescue pups)have to have a taste too!the things we do .
