PLEASE HELP....juvenile dermatitis....!!!

Our lab gave birth to 11 pups but only 9 lived...we live in TX and it was hot as usual when the birth took place. We had a major problem trying to keep the flies away.....bought and did everything we could do......bout 1-2 weeks we noticed these knots that started coming up...so we took them to the vet and come to find out they have or had "juvenile dermatitis" We got the antibotic and the shampoo and bathed and cleaned them as directed....they will be 6 weeks of age on Friday and all the sores are healed....only thing is where the knots(sores) were.....there is no hair......my question is does anybody know much about this disease...?? We thought it was from the flies but the vet said it was from my dog not cleaning the puppies good......does anyone know if the hair is going to grow back...I guess the major thing is will the HAIR come back...????..or we stuck with AKC registered labs that are not gonna have hair........any help will for sure comfort me.....Thanks

As long as there wasn't any scarring, the hair should grow back in a couple weeks.

Next time you might want to try raising the puppies inside...

Re: PLEASE HELP....juvenile dermatitis....!!!

well this is her second litter and we didn't have any problem.....but it was also in the winter so the conditions were perfect.....so we just took it for granted that there wouldn't be any issue's......

So no scaring then were good.....answer this......these sores pussed up and we were supposed to pop these sores...so there was an open wound.....but they had the shampoo and the antibotic for the sores......do you think there is still gonna be scaring with the open wound....????

Thanks

Guess what I'm trying to say is that....even though it was an open sore....we did keep it clean and free of dirt.....so maybe we did the right thing and there will not be any scaring...!!!

There shouldn't be any scarring, especially with as young as those pups are. Any scars will also fade with time.
