which wet for cats

I want to start adding some wet food into my cats diet. I tried Felidae Chicken and Rice but they did not like it. Then i tried the other Felidae formula which they liked but gave them smelly poop and soft poop.

So now I want to try some others Either
Merrick (I might not due to the fact that I am not sure where their ingredients come from and some other stuff about a rendering plant)

Innova (depending on how expensive it is)

Fromm (I actually don't know much about this food so i would like your feelings on it)

Evangers (If I can find one of the formulas that does not contain menadione)

Can anyone think of others or share their opinions on which is best?

What about Natural Balance? Thats what I feed my cat whenever I give her wet. She loves it!

Re: which wet for cats

Well that's what I was originally going to get until it a few of the formulas were recalled. Now I don't really trust them.

I don't know about cats but Innova is a good food for dogs..so I would think for cats too . Why do you want to feed them wet?

Re: which wet for cats

Cats tend not to drink enough water for their own good. Because of this they get many problems like Urinary tract infections, crystals and some kidney problems. Wet food is key in preventing these problems from happening.

Yes the one wet cat food formulas was recalled...something and green pea, maybe venison and green pea I really hope you don't feed that and that your kitty is alright.

Re: which wet for cats

Lily is fine There is a wet formula that was recalled a while ago only because they were suspicious of the ingredients, they never got any complaints about it. Except for the dry food, the Venison and green pea was recalled, the dry because of complaints. They just are being cautious with the wet food. And the recalled products are:

Venison and Brown Rice Dry Dog Formula
Venison and Brown Rice Canned Dog Food
Venison & Brown Rice Formula Dog Treats
Venison and Green Pea Dry Cat Formula
Chicken Formula Canned Dog Food
Lamb Formula Canned Dog Food
Beef Formula Canned Dog Food
Ocean Fish Formula Canned Cat Food

I returned the oceanfish but still have the rest.

I still recommend their food, just not the recalled stuff.

Re: which wet for cats

Evangers is a good brand of food and my cats liked it. I dont think they put any animal-by-product in there, but I'd have to double check on that.
I dont see how Felidae could cause soft poops, could it be related to something else? Try it again and see if it still happens, or you could ask your Vet about it.

Re: which wet for cats

Now I'm starting to think the soft poop was just because they were not used to eating wet so this was a big change for them, especially Neko who has had nothing but dry food for two years. Willie has had nothing but dry for 9 months (of course subtracting mother's milk time). maybe I should try it some more since they liked it. It was not diarrhea though (like the Fancy feast I fed them once gave Willie...It was everywhere ) so maybe it was just "adjustment poop".
