| Introducing Ellie Mae This is sweet little Ellie Mae, she is only a week or so old and is an orphan the way things look right now, Ellie might just be coming to live here She needs to be bottle fed for a while and cant be with the rest of the herd on the farm she is at. Guy and myself have decided that we will take her home. Its his parents calf. We just have to make a few "alterations" to some sheds around here for now.
So... Here she is!
Do you have my bottle???
I am not talking to anyone unless I get my bottle.
"excuse me sir... have you seen my bottle anywhere?" |

| Re: Introducing Ellie Mae I guess I will do an update.
Ellie mae doesnt need to come here anymore, another cow on the farm calfed the week after and has adopted Ellie as one of her own.
No more bottle feeding for her, Im still going to get pics regularly of her.
Perhaps when she is older we may still get her, but for now there is nothing better for her than real cows milk. |

| Re: Introducing Ellie Mae After being out with the cows I decided perhaps that I should update and answer some questions that i neglected oh back in May of last year...
Ellie will NOT be eaten as she has become more of a pet than anything. She is currently having a hard time adjusting to the loss of her buddy Spike (he had a stroke and is no longer with us RIP Spike)
Ellie does not do well with the other cows, she is a loner. Where the herd is, Ellie is not.
The thinking caps are on again and there is some discussion of what will be done with her. By that I mean if she is coming here or staying there to shun the rest of the cows.
Anyways enough updates for now, and here are some more recent pix.
"Remember me??"
"Im just a sweet litlun, will you please pet me"
Another of the calves born last spring, I dont know her name though, theres too many to tell
Another Highland |

And a pretty pretty silver Highland almost the same age as Ellie Mae, we are thinking of taking her too.
Trying to see through the hair over her eyes, again, I dont know her name.

| Re: Introducing Ellie Mae Haha those pictures crack me up, they are really cute. It's too bad about the other calf, but I'm glad it worked out well for Ellie Mae since she got a surrogate mother...looks like she's growing up very prettily. |

| Re: Introducing Ellie Mae LOL Inga Inga...
Im glad you reread before commenting on my "burger" comment.
Only a few of the cows become burgers and other beef dishes at the inlaws, most of them are pets. |
