| Theres a nipple missing!! Hahahahaha! I am taking a Sterile Technique class at school this quarter. The teacher kept stressing to try your hardest not to shave any of the animals nipples off when your preping for surgery.
Well I was a little curious and since Lily has been spayed I thought I would check. And what do you know one is GONE!!
Im fine with that, she will never need them but I think its soo funny that they shaved one off! Nobody will notice since I had to look through all her fur and it took a while to figure out if it was gone or not.
I just thought I would share that with you all because I find it HILARIOUS! |

| Re: Theres a nipple missing!! Oh your kitty sounds like a cute baby. I use to have three kitties, but now I have Sadie, the allmost all black lab with a curlee tail). I am trying to figure out how to start a new thread on here. I took Sadie to the beach. The tide is way out and lots of whitecaps. We live in the, "Banana belt" of our state, but get alot of wind. Sadie and I fed bread to the seaguls. There is one seagul, Charley, that chases the others off. It's fun posting to you, hopefully I will learn how to start a thread! |

Ah, nipple-less, huh?
My big male kitty has nipples...I find that somewhat strange, for some reason. Do male dogs have nipples?
I've said "nipple" too much for one post, LOL!!!!! |

Its funny that the vet didnt even tell me that they did it, maybe they never do.
Male dogs do have nipples too. Its just like humans, they dont need them but they still have them. It does look funny though! |

| Re: Theres a nipple missing!! That's so funny! I will have to check Bridgette too. I tried to check her just now, but she was irritated that I was bothering her while she enjoys one of her favorite shows. (Animal Precinct) Actually I don't blame her since this dog on here looks like it could be her sister!!
And SLK, I think that Lily is the most dog-like cat I have ever "met". And THAT is a compliment! My cats are SO the opposite. |

| Re: Theres a nipple missing!! We must have been watching that at the same time. I actually saw that dog and thought, "That looks like CrazyBrit's dog!"
Gorgeous baby, she was! I love that black around her mouth, almost like she had lipstick on!!! Too cute!!!!
People kill me. At the end, that dog had on this ritzie looking dog sweater. I was like, "I bet that's more expensive then what I normally wear to work!!" LOL!!!!! |

Either that or your dog is one of the very few that dont have any. |

| Re: Theres a nipple missing!! He must be one of those few! Haha
I just gave him a bath and checked Real thouroughly and nope, nothing.
Thats really weird because, I dont know if I didnt look hard enough, but I never met a male dog with nipples.
But then again, I dont inspect them
But I have met male cats with them.
Idk.
Pretty Interesting information though |

| Re: Theres a nipple missing!! yes, male dogs have "nipples".....just like in humans, they're there, just not "functioning"......sometimes they are so small and even w/ the rest of the skin that you don't see them......
as for the "case of the missing nipple".....i really don't think it got shaved off, as that would cause a sore and bleeding where it was.....she was probably born w/out one there....dogs and cats are not always "uniform" w/ their nipples...... |

| Re: Theres a nipple missing!! It was shaved off. Lily had all her nipples before. By looking at it, it definatly looks like it was shaved off. And dogs/cats who go into surgery mostly for spays and sometimes it happens to neutered dogs too. It happens all the time, one thing my teachers (at the best vet tech school in the US) tell us students is that every student will shave a nipple off at least once (of course im sure theres someone who hasnt). They said you either glue it back on (that sounds too weird to me) or just leave it shaved off.
When Lily came home from getting spayed, I did not inspect the area. I didnt know anything about it so I didnt check, I wish I had so I could remember it now though. |

Yeah, Micheala really drilled this into us in Vet Sci, too, about not shaving off nipples. =3 That's kinda cute that Lily's missing one...you'll have to show me next time I come over. X3 |
