Other PetsEven though this is Dog Forums, not everyone can limit thier love to just dogs. This is your outlet to talk about other pets you may have or want and questions about them!
First we just have the fishes. Our eldest fish is now about 4 years old. Then we moved to our first house and got Cain and Abel. A year and a half later, we got Xena and 11 months later, we got Zeus.
Life has definitely became busier and well, everyday is a friggin' adventure. The dogs and the cat keep us moving, and when we want to relax we stare at the fish tank for as long as we want. Something about watching the fishes swim back and forth relieves your stress without you even knowing it.
Today, we took Little Zeus to his first vet appointment, it was moved a few times because of conflicting schedules. He did well, although he showed displeasure in being crated. He got his first shots, dewormer and some ear med. Poor kitty has ear mites which the vet said he's probably had from day one. Perhaps momma kitty gave it to her newborns. I am now quite paranoid about the dogs contracting the infection as he's been around him for almost a month now. I cleaned his ears a few times before, but had I known earlier that it was earmites, I wouldn't have let the vet re-scheduled his appointment.
In a month's time, is his BIG day. The vet figured he's somewhere around 4-5 months old. I want to get him fixed before he discover the joy of SPRAYING.
As a reward for his good behaviour at the vet office, we bought him his own personal cat house/scratch post and a few toys, which I can almost guarantee that the dogs will most likely destroy in no time at all.
I haven't decided on the dogs costume this year, which is ODD. I've always have their stuff ready weeks before halloween. Too many things are keeping us very occupied.
Here's a cute video of Xena and Zeus from last night. Dont get fooled. Although Zeus is on his back on the ground, he definitely was winning the "playfight". The whole time, Xena just kept nudging him with her snout. The dogs are actually very good in playing with Zeus close mouthed. I never once saw any of them try to mouth him, which is impressive. I was scared that they will try to play with him the way they play with each other. Zeus in return is also good in smacking them without showing his claws. He does this cute playful jabs and not once did he hurt any of the dogs when they play.
