Re: Butch, My Cat

I'm a diehard fan of orange tabbies. I can't explain it ... they just seem more lovable to me, or something. Black and white is very handsome, though.

I always worry that it's somehow racist or discriminatory to have a favorite color. Is that completely ridiculous?

Re: Butch, My Cat

Canteloupe,
I occasionally wonder the same thing. I LOVE white dogs. I only want white dogs. I think the dark brown eyes with white as a background really makes the expression pop. Whenever I'm talking to anyone and I mention that I really only want a white dog I always think, "I hope they don't think the fact that I only want a white dog means I only like white humans." That is definitely not the case. I just like how expressive the eyes look on white dogs.

Re: Butch, My Cat

Butch is a VERY handsome kitty

i have 2 cats. a 12 year old siamese and an 8 year old brown tabby dsh. they don't go outside. i don't believe that their lives are boring or cooped up at all. they are happy and they are in no danger of getting hit by a car, picking up diseases or parasites, or getting attacked by another animal. i personally feel that there are too many things out of my control if i were to let them out. it is the same reason why my dogs are not ever let to roam. i would hate it if they were to go out and something were to happen to them, something that wouldn't have happened if they were safe inside the house. (i am a bit of a control freak though...)

Butch is a cutie. he looks a lot like my PandaCat. ill see if i can find a pic

i have several cats, most of which are indoor cats. the one outdoor cat is the oldest guy and he came with me from my folks who my dad always let him out. and now if you try to keep him inside he will attack the other cats and spray everywhere..so im fixing him up a run outside because i cant stand uncontained animals.

That does help a lot with outdoor cats - they aren't as prone to cat fighting & injuries that way. And I don't think they wander so much either, like they do when not neutered.

I've heard from TNR groups that spaying and neutering alone cuts back tenfold on disease spread, because it removes the main reasons that cats come into physical contact with each other.

ETA: Thanks for answering my question, keechak. It sounds like he leads a lovely life.

When I've seen Butch out and about outside, he really doesn't even seem to stray too far from the house. He just kinda lazes on the lawn xD
