what other pets do you have?

Well, our youngest is Junior-a 5 month old Yorkie, who of course thinks he is Rotty..We also have Max, a Border Collie, who we rescued, he is 5-6 yrs, and we have Piper our rotty/mix, she is 9. Also have 3 cats, Milky, Lil' Bear, and TT, and at the moment 2 lizards my sons have caught outside.

(yes, it's clearly overstocked, however, I clean it out often and everyone seems pretty happy. Lots of places to hide too!)

1 goldfish fry who's no larger than 1/2"

1 Husband:
24 years old, cute, and loves attention!

As a fish lover I'd love to get all over you about having the 4 bettas together and the pleco in the 10 gallon as pleco's can get up to 2 feet in length and shouldn't be in anything smaller than a 55 gallon tank but I won't because it will be pointless. But I'd like to say that even though those 4 bettas get along now just wait and one day you will come home to either injured or dead fish.

This had me chuckling. Our neighbors have a striped kitten named Raphael. Just picturing him in a fish tank....LOL

Now now It's not pointless. I've had fish for almost 10 years, I know how to care for my fish and I know how big what fish grow to and what tank requirements they need.

The pleco is a rescue from a woman who was going to dump it in the river- which I told her was illegal and if she were caught would get a rather nasty fine. So I told her I would take it. The pleco remains in the 10 gallon until it gets shipped off to an acquaintance in FL, along with over half the population of fish in my 55 gallon. For the time being, the pleco is 5" and is doing just fine. Also, to add, the pleco is, as plecos are, territorial, so it cannot live with the goldfish- In general, plecos are not suppose to room' with goldies for the fact that they like to suck the slime coats, which is bad for the goldies.

The bettas get along fine. There are 3 females and one male in the 15, and it's heavily planted (faux plants with some pothos). When they get "fishues" they have a place to hide, but as I am generally home most of the day I rarely ever see this occur and its normally a moment of flaring.

I understand your concern. I am often at Aquamaniacs.net and see the horrors that people put their fish through. I will gladly let you know that I am not one of those people- Hell, I even put my past Oranda goldfish through expensive surgery. When he died it was like the world ended.

So, all I ask is that you remain calm, take a breather, and understand I am not one of the crazies

It's understandable. We're in a material world where people take pets as furniture I get just as testy myself sometimes, no worries

Right now I have two mutts, Nico and Cuda and a siamese cat, Mushelbee. Other pets I have had in my lifetime: dogs, cats, various fish and aquatic invertebrates, box turtles, anoles, a rabbit, a guinea pig, and a tame raccoon.

well, here it goes- in total I have:

3 dogs- Jade, Rikku, and Strider
4 cats- Phoenix, Ember, Sprite, and Mystique
2 ferrets- Kida and Kahlan
7 mice
and 5 soon to be 6 fish tanks

since I work in the pet industry, I tend to take my work home with me
I just couldn't turn away any animal that really needs a home

Well besides Kenya, there's also another rescue dog and a cat that live here (me and my buddy live in this house...bachelor pad haha). I personally can't stand cats (send the flood of hate, sorry) so I try not to claim it.

I also have a saltwater aquarium that's young and right now contains an orange-spot sleeper goby, about a dozen blue-leg hermit crabs, various snails, a few chocolate chip starfish (that I'm trying to get rid of, they're a pest), and some feather dusters.

Other then "my" Cameron, i have Gauge( German Shorthair) who is my boyfriends dog, Keata my silver tabby cat, one 4 yr old Iguana named Jade, one 1.5 yr old iguana named Seign, an 8-inch red bellied pacus and a Cichlid in a 75 gal. freshwater tank, two hermit crabs, and 7 female mice. And i recently released my rescued American Snapping turtle that was with me for 2 years recovering.

Ive owned several different pets in the past including several different kinds of rodents, tons of reptiles, 3 cats and 10 dogs( most of which were adopted to just give a good life to them for their last few years of life). many many others that were rescues that didnt stay more then a year or so.

Besides DaKota & Glitzie, we have Salem the cat, Pika & Batman the cockateils, Fifi & Fluffy the betta fish, Bumbles the Desert King Snake,
and 3 pet mice. We use to have a small goldfish pond, but the frogs kinda killed them off.
Salem, Batman & Bumbles were also rescues.
