Exclamation Cat Question

Hello all!! On Saturday I took my cat Roxie to the vets for her yearly check-up. While we were there, the vet asked if we noticed her shaking her head or scratching at her ears and I said no. Well now I sometimes catch her doing it . It's usually after you pet her or after she's just gotten done running about the apartment like a lunatic. I also do occassionally catch her scratching at her ear. Do you think maybe I am taking notice of it more now since the vet had asked? Or do you think there may be something health related? I feel like I could be overreacting because hey, everyone gets an itch right? I was thinking maybe she had ear mites but I am not seeing any black in her ears. Is there something else this could be? What should I look for?? Thank you for reading/helping!!!

I would take them to the vet even though it doesn't sounds serious. They could go deaf if they have had a prolonged infection. I took mine to the vet because I thought they had ear mites. They didn't but it did made me more aware about keeping their ears clean. Now I always look in their ears for ear mites. I do this whether it is a dog or a cat.

Ear mites would be a concern, but if the vet didn't catch that, and you dont see anything it could have been a general question.

Vet may have seen a little wax buildup in there as well. It's really hard to tell. If anything, to make yourselk at ease, call the vet and ask how her ears checked out.

Vet may have just been asking a routine question, but its better to be safe than sorry.
