| Jaffa! Apart from Tess and Coco we have two cats, Jaffa below and an elderly home-grown shorthair (black) called Florence. The black in the photo is Tess! |

| I love striped cats! That one reminds me of Grizz, a cat my college roomate had years ago. |

| Update - Jaffa brought present for Coco! Just thought I'd share a sweet (!) incident that happened in the night. We've had Coco (lab cross puppy we got at 8 weeks) for nearly 8 weeks, and the cats have kept out of her way pretty much by living upstairs beyond the stairgate, except the last few days when Coco has gone upstairs she has met Jaffa on the top step where he habitually sits, and they have touched noses and said hello. (Jaffa likes our older dog very much.) Coco sleeps in her crate in our room. At 6am I got her out for her morning pee and just by the door of her crate was a dead mouse! For the non-cat people here you might think that is pretty unpleasant, but I was so touched that Jaffa had brought the puppy a present! |

That is sooo sweet! I will live for the day when our newest cat Luna does something like that. She doesn't have access to any mouse, unless god forbid she gets the gerbil, lol, but I'd love it if she'd lay down with Bridette or something. Our other cat Bagheera HATED the dog, but now they are inseperable. They wrestle and sleep each other and Bagheera licks her ears. Luna is still very nervous of Bridgette and the closest they get is when she is batting at the dog's nose. LoL. |

| Well I hope that soon Jaffa will want to snuggle up with Coco but he's still wary of her when she's *not* in her crate. They greet each other at the top of the stairs when I'm holding on to Coco, but she has a tendency to lunge at him which of course makes him back off. The closest they get otherwise is oposite sides of our bed when the animals get to come on for morning cuddles. Our old cat just growls at Coco and turns her back!
BTW about 10 years ago, our old cat managed to get hold of my son's hamster. He'd left the top open on the cage and Hercules (the hammy) had gone walkabout in the night and George got him. It was VERY traumatic. And yes, I'm very ashamed. |

Bagheera decided that he'd try and jump on the table next to the gerbil's cage and he knocked the cage off the table and it flew open. Alex was able to grab the cat in time and put him and the dog away from where the gerbil was. He ran into the cat's room (we didn't have Luna at the time) and somehow Bagheera go passed her and caught the gerbil and just sort of help him for a few seconds before Alex grabbed him. Luckily she got the gerbil back into the cage and he's fine. He's not even scarred from that interaction, he still plays with the cat!! By playing I mean he ONLY comes out of his little hut when Bagheera sits on the cage...it's really bizarre but the gerbil only plays with the cat, not even us. |

Jaffa sounds so sweet! He really sounds like he's trying to make Coco fit in. They may end up being best pals, yet! |
