| Nope, and can't say I'd want one. What's next? How about some hippos in the swimming pool? OY!
Wanna see monkeys, got on a safari, or to the zoo! |

| I know of someone (friend of a friend of a friend sort of thing) who has a monkey that takes a shower by himself in the morning, gets dressed (he wears pull-ups), then makes himself french toast in the microwave for breakfast. |

| Why would anyone want to own a monkey? I mean, they are wild animals for God's sake! It makes me ill when I see any type of wild animal being sold...raccons, skunks, monkies, wolves... |

I guess what I think is sad is the number of people that have them that shouldn't have them. And then how just anybody who has the money can have one. |

| One of my childhood bests friend owned one a spider monkey, that was back in the 70's. That monkey was the meanest, nastiest thing I ever saw. I would not own one. It would throw its own poop at you. |

| I do not have them and do not want one. My daughter keeps begging for one. I feel like sometimes I actually have 5 LOL!!.
A neighbor of mine has a monkey. I guess the owner died and when my neighbor was at the garage sale the kids were giving it away. My neighbor made a pretty big outdoor cage for it and I guess she now has an indoor cage too. I do not think she would have gone out searching for one this one I guess she just felt sorry for. I think the monkey is actually lucky he ended up with her she takes pretty good care of him. At a garage sale who knows who it could have ended up with. |

| I have no inclination at all to own a monkey. Sure, they are cute as babies, but most everything is.
I personally don't feel that they are comparable to dogs. I think someone else mentioned that dogs have been domesticated for centuries, and we still don't know all there is to know about them. And even after all this domestication, people still have to designate time to properly work with a dog in order to assure that it is socialized correctly. |

| Re: Anyone have a monkey? Hi folks,
I checked out the web site listed for Primates for sale. What cheap are you looking at. There was a period in my early married life (I am not at all proud of that period) when I had several different species of monkeys. I never paid more than $300/$400 for any of them.
I am NOT in favor of anyone owning them. They can be endearing when babies, but downright dangerous when adults. My one Capuchin was a doll baby at first, but after he ripped up several folks arm, not so cute. When a Capuchin is mature; it can have 3"+ canine teeth and get very cranky. No, they aren't pets for any average person to own.
God Bless All......Stan |
