Little Change of Pace

I normally only share my shelter photos, but I know there are a lot of horse people here too so I figured some might enjoy a few equine shots. The majority of these animals belong to my aunt whom is largely responsible for fueling my animal passion. She taught me how to ride and respect animals in exchange for the stable hand work I did in the summer. Some of my favorite memories are of times down at the barn.

First up is Brat. This boy actually used to belong to my dad but was returned to my aunt (his breeder) upon our departure for Germany (military family, we only lived there for about 4 years). He's my little buddy but truly truly lives up to his name. Not only that but I swear he slams his feet into the ground when someone is riding. Definitely not the smoothest gate out there. I love him a lot though and keep a special place in my heart for Appys.

Next is Austin. She is a little over a year now and a filly out of my cousin's mare Tinker.

At our first photo shoot when she was just a few months old..

Then there's Evie. Another baby around the same age as Austin who is out of my cousin's other mare Janie

Re: Little Change of Pace

First photo shoot at a few months old…

This is Frank. He’s named for Frank Sinatra (‘cause boy are his eyes BLUE) and is the new young colt belonging to the stable owner. Frank is quite the beauty…and very much to my taste. He is a Sabino in coloring so not quite as flashy as most Paints are used to seeing – but I rather prefer that look.

Last but not least is Blink, a spooky gelding my aunt is currently training for a client. He’s a BIG boy and not really too sure of himself at the moment. He’s pretty friendly though…as long as you are not doing anything scary. Unfortunately what’s ‘scary’ changes from day to day.

That’s it! There are several other horses of which I was not able to get a picture of. I hope you enjoyed seeing these guys though

Yeah, Frank is a real beauty Typically I'm not the biggest fan of blue eyes on a horse - but his are a bit different then the typical blues you see and I LOVE them.
