| Might not be a record, but Wow! I picked up a beautiful pair of Leucistic Honduran Red Point Cichlids on Friday, maybe about 2 -2.5 inches long, and they spawned last night! Couldn't believe it, 3 days to pair up and spawn! They're so cute guarding their eggs. This is my first Central American Cichlid spawn, so I'm very excited. I've been keeping Africans for a few years now, but I've only been keeping Central Americans for about 5 months now. My Myrnae are pretty confused, lol. They were boss of the tank before, now they're pushed over to the other half of the tank, lol. |

| Re: Might not be a record, but Wow! So did they dig a pit and spawn or glue it to a rock in the tank?
And why no pictures???? |

| Re: Might not be a record, but Wow! They actually crammed them into a crevice in the driftwood, silly fish! And, my camera sucks at taking fish pics, so I have to borrow my folks. I'll try to get pics tomorrow, but I'm still not very good at fish photography, so they may not look like much, lol. I'll do my best for ya though. |

| Re: Might not be a record, but Wow! Okay, couldn't get a decent pic without disturbing the fish more than I'd like, but I managed to get a couple of videos! Here they are:
Mom guarding the eggs: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GfLv-035vPA
And from a better angle. Here you can actually see the eggs, and you can see Dad patrolling the perimeter, lol. At one point he actually switches spots with the female for a bit. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t-JrMTGkrTo |

| Re: Might not be a record, but Wow! Yeah, they're so cute! On the not so great side, woke up to a leaking 75 gallon tank today, sob! I've spent my morning catching fish, emptying the bloody thing out, and attempting to dry out the carpet! Looks like it's just a leaky silicone seal, but that's still a major pain, since I have to dry the thing out, wait until my friend John has time to come and cut the silicone out and re seal it, and then wait for it to set, about 120 hours! Sigh, good thing I had a giant rubbermaid bin kicking around to put the fish into. They're not thrilled, but they have their filter and heater set up in there, so they'll be okay. |

| Re: Might not be a record, but Wow! Yeah, NOT a fun way to wake up, lol. I'm just glad it's just a silicone flaw, and not a crack. Much easier and cheaper to re seal the tank then to replace a whole panel of glass. |
