Looked at yet another horse today.Ferdinand. *pics*
Well, it was a looooong day, Out of here by 7:30. Then, bank, post office(twice because I forgot to buy stamps), vegetables for the restaurant, annnnnd, off to see horsies.
First we stopped to see Ferdinand, the 1/2 Holsteiner I only had useless pics of yesterday. I won't tell you what I think as I don't want to prejudice your opinion.
Here he is. One of the prereqs of me buying him is that he be gelded BTW.

So, there he is. Ferdinand the Freakishly Calm Stallion.
Yeah, he actually is freakishly calm. Dogs and puppies runing around his feet, barking, a car in the ring, (not running TG) We took him on a short trail ride up a hill and then through some puddles. Jumped over a little stick in the path, NOTHING phased him. And he ponies great. The trainer threw me his reins and let me pony him back to the stables. It's weird.

Chrissy, I like him a lot better then the others that you have posted. How old is he? He is quite refined compared to the other guy you looked at. He is in much better condition and hey, you can't beat that name. Most of the Holsteiner's I have ever seen have been 16.3 to 17.2 hands. What is the other half are you thinking? Arabian maybe? He has a pretty face. How is he to ride?
Chrissy, I had to add, I really, really like the puppy in the pictures. LOL They guy obviously has good taste in animals. LOL

He certainly seems like a willing soul. I am a little concerned about how narrow he is, especially in the front. Is he a young horse? The videos are grainy so a little hard to tell but he seemed to move squarely, which is good. Did he feel balanced while you rode? He moves like a young unexperienced horse. Faster, slower, faster slower etc...
Pretty boy though If it is age, that will all come together with time.
Still like the "watch puppy" LOL

Ok will do.
Actually the dogs were running under and around his feet as he was standing, and he never even batted an eye. Not even a hint of an ear pin. Just stood there waiting. I think he's awesome.

Ok, called the vet, discussed CBCs, EIAs, Liver/Kidney. and Eq. Babesiosis testing. All of which are available here. He's going to come and do Bree and then we'll set up a time to do whichever horse I pick.
At least I can get the testing done here. He told me the tests would be available same day.
We're also getting ready to offer $150 for a little palomino gelding. Sorry, no pics.
Feet like iron but skinny. Cute little guy though.

I like the stallion. He will make a nice gelding. I just sold or gave away 23 horses this year. The last of them just three weeks ago, the night I got my puppy. It was heartbreaking for me and the puppy helps me not think about it. I have alot of physical problems and can't take care of them like I use to. I do have 7 left that my husband will help me with. I think that might be more manageable for me. I have had horses for 46 years. I raised 6 generations.

Then, the vet check.
I can't bargain either and I am sure not a sales person. Thats why I did give some away. Most had show records. I just wanted good homes. Horse market is dead around here with hay prices up so much with gas prices being up. I think it will be years for the market to come back here.
