My little bitty kitty boys are growing up!

Pippin and Fergus are the formerly feral stray kittens I found at the tail end of April. They were about 7 weeks old at the time, and terrified of people. They'd hiss every time they saw me, and I had to kept them at first in a big rabbit cage in my kitchen.

When they got too big for the cage, I moved them into the bathroom, where they quickly learned to trust me. And use me as a cat tree.

When I got the ok from the vet, they got free roam of the house, where they quickly learned to destroy my fern.

And the palm tree.

And here's my handsome little boys now.

Pippin is starting to look like a real CAT!

He's sleek and muscular. And likes to watch Animal Planet.

Lazing on the couch.

His brother Fergus seems to have some Siamese in him.

He has the longer face and crossed eyes, but not he coat or the coloring.

He's also an expert at being lazy.

What's most amazing is their personalities. From being ferals who were terrified of people, to total lapcats. Pippin wants to be near me at all times. I can't even use the bathroom without him jumping on my lap. And Fergus insists on sleeping with his head tucked under my chin.

Whoever believes that feral cats can't be tamed needs to meet my crew.

Re: My little bitty kitty boys are growing up!

They are very pretty cats. Pippin looks a lot like my cat Max...except Max has white on his face. I love black cats!

Last year we had a feral kitten living in one of our buildings. I was forever trying to get near this kitten but she would never let me get even close. However, she was fond of our cat Fred. She'd come up to the window of our house and I just knew that she was looking for Fred and wanting him to come out and play with her. So I tried using Fred as "bait". I'd go out and sit in front of the building with Fred. Petting Fred and feeding him treats...trying to show the kitten, "Hey, she doesn't seem that scary!" I had just got to the point to where she'd come up to me and let me touch her...and then she disappeared and I haven't seen her since. I was really upset about it at the time because I would have taken this cat in and gave her a home. Most of my animals are strays anyway except for my cat Max (rescue) and Uallis. She probably lived in that building for about a month, poor thing. I'd set out food and water everyday though for her.
