Some cat troubles

I have two cats, mother and son, and one, Delilah, is about 12 or 13 years old now. She is a beautiful long haired calico-mix and when I was brushing er, I found a medium-sized lump underneath her arm. I told my mom and she said that if it gets bigger we'll take her to the vet. What are the odds of my cat getting cancer? My dog has had bumps before, but that's because of his breed and they're all banine.

Re: Some cat troubles

I would take her in...our cat Toby had a lump on his side several years ago..they had to go in and remove it..it wasn't cancer but it could turn into cancer they said. We have to have him checked every year too to make sure it hasn't returned. Good luck!

The chances of a cat having a cancerous/malignant lump is greater then a dogs. I would take her in if I were you, just to be safe.

I'd get it checked, too. It could be as simple as a cyst or abcess, but even those would require some vet care. I'd rather have it checked and have it be nothing, then wait and have it be something that's much more serious because I waited.
