Major setback with Miss Kitty (Jade)

Well we moved into the new house and I had the cat in my closet with her little Mouse House until I got the guest room set up with their food and litterbox. The counter in the bathroom overlaps the closet door, so I had the door open slightly, so the cats could jump on the counter for the food. Well I or someone else left the bedroom door open by mistake, and the dogs got in. I was in the garage unpacking. Eriks brother heard barking and ran into the room and found Chance and Kody attacking Miss Kitty. He said they were barking and she was growling and drooling. He got me in there, and there was big lumps of hair everywhere and blood on the walls. I checked her out, and while I think they bit her leg, she can still walk fine on it, and most of the blood appears to have come from Chances nose (its all scabbed up right now.) I set up the guest room and she is still fine with me and the other cats, but she hasn't come out of the closet in there. I put her mouse house, and her litterbox and food are in there, but I don't think she has eaten. I'm about to go in there and bring her to her food. But there has been a lot of change lately, I think shes just adjusting. I had to take all 3 cats to my moms office yesterday while the landloard did a walkthrough with me. (the cats arent on the lease, shh,) and Miss Kitty seemed fine. Lets hope we can ride this one out and she will continue to come out of the room sometimes.

This is what my closet looked like when I got there:

She is a trooper though, afterwards she ran to the kitchen and just hung out on this chair and cleaned herself up

Well just give her some time. After all she is in a new place as well as what happened to her.
I wanted to ask thought about the cat bite or scratch on the dogs. You might want to have a vet take a look for antibiotics. Cat bites or scratches as you know can get infected quickly..
I hope she adjusts. Maybe just quiet time in the room. Reading on the floor or something like that to help her out. Whatever was a the normal routine with her before. Maybe as far as eating give her a little treat- a special canned food she likes or something like that..

Yeah I think canned food will do the trick. There isnt any bite marks from her, but Chances nose, well his snout has a bunch of small dot like scabs. Its just like bumpy. Not actual like slashes... I'll keep my eye on both of them

When we first got Sonja, she and Willow had it out big time while we were gone. Sonja bit clear through Willow's ear, and then Willow shook her head, and blood was EVERYWHERE! But, they now have an understanding, and Willow and Sonja get along just great. Hopefully Jade and Chance will work something out, with no lasting ill effects.

Poor kitty...I hope your dogs don't decide that the other cats are fair game from this point on...that would be my concern, especially since they 'plucked her', and didn't just slobber her up; perhaps now you have your real reason as to why she never came out before...maybe rehoming her IS in her best interests.

Since then things have been okay, she comes out of the closet in the cat room and will look right at the dogs. I think it may have boosted her confidance, as in, "I CAN stand up to them." Cuz she got Chances nose GOOD. Her butt was all bloody but I think they were trying to smell her and their noses were bloody. Things have settled down and they still treat the other cats as they always did. If a come homes up for her I WILL NOT turn it down.

Ugh tell me about it. I hate having to have a room gated off so she can feel safe. Plus the litterbox though... But I moved the table I have witht heir cat food in front of the window and she lays on the windowsil all day long. I think she enjoys her peace and quiet. She may be on to something......

I wish Sonia, my kitty, would whack Cherokee a good one. He is so obsessed with her and she won't hold her ground. I think they would be better friends if she would just stand up to him once.
