Yesssssss, She certainly has a "personality".
Actually, she'd be a perfect horse for me if she only weighed about 800 pounds more. |

| Re: HEY CHRISSYBZ! (We need some pony updates!) she is a beautiful girl and might not end up being as small as you were first thinking. They just grow so darn slow when you are waiting every day for them to get big. LOL She seems to be feeling pretty good too. That is nice to see. Pretty sad all the skinny horses too. I think we will be seeing more and more of those here now with the economy. Horses are expensive to maintain. Glad Bree is doing so well. |

| Re: HEY CHRISSYBZ! (We need some pony updates!) Well I'd rather she grow slow and healthy, than too fast. That as another reason I took her off the Sweet feed and put her on straight oats with apple cider vinegar, a vitamin powder, and oil. She seems to be doing really well on this combo so I'm going to stick with it for now. No signs of colic since we got the worming situation cleared up. I'm thinking of adding a clove of garlic to her food though. It's soon going to be wet muddy and icky, for months, and it would be a good way of getting some organic sulfur into her. |

That bay mare (thin one) looks to be atleast 16 hands...if not closer to 17...what a lovely thing she would be with some decent food put into her... |

| Re: HEY CHRISSYBZ! (We need some pony updates!) Thanks Jenn. Took a few more last night and the first window in the final design is up. All the windows will eventually be done in 2 x 2 as it will let the breeze & light through while being strong but be very easy to board up in case of a major hurricane.
The stable this morning. Obviously, we still have a lot of workto still do.
I sit here with Bree almost every night now and we talk. (or she eats and I read) |

Juan and Max on top of the Paddock thatch putting the roof cap on. Juan is the one standing up on the left. Yeah it's a pretty high roof. At least it's one of the many projects going on that is now FINISHED!!! |

| Re: HEY CHRISSYBZ! (We need some pony updates!) Couple more of Brisa
She's getting white hairs all over her body. I wonder if she's going to roan out of if she's showing some sabino. She's even getting a few blond hairs in her mane. Or maybe going grey. IDK I guess I'll have to wait and see.
Either or she sure is shiny. |

| Re: HEY CHRISSYBZ! (We need some pony updates!) I can't get over how great she looks. Look at the Mansion of a paddock she gets to live in now(can I move in, too?), I am so happy for her!
It definitely looks like she has some roaning going on, will be interesting to see what happens in the next few years. |

| Re: HEY CHRISSYBZ! (We need some pony updates!) She is beautiful, IMO and she's a good nighttime companion. We're beginning to communicate and she's beginning to accept me as the herd leader. (sort of, I could do more with a round pen) someday. I'm prioritizing safety and health first. (silly me)
As I get to know her more I'm seeing more of her personality emerge and develop, she's sweet, bossy, a little bit dominant, and a clown. So every day is a surprise. and she can undo knots like a pro. I dread the day she sets her mind to gate latches. |

| Re: HEY CHRISSYBZ! (We need some pony updates!) Chrissy, I love the shavings in her mane.... Too cute!!
She's such a beautiful girl. I love the paddock. That roof should keep the rain off her for a long time to come. The barn seems to be coming along nicely as well.
I understand completely about sitting with Bree every night. It's very calming just to be in the presence of a horse isn't it? It's just so peaceful. |

| Re: HEY CHRISSYBZ! (We need some pony updates!) Yeah I'm pretty happy with the paddock too. It will be a nice refuge during miserable days and should stay pretty dry under there24/7/365 with the roof cap being finished today. Till a hurricane comes along anyway. I'm trying to get to the point where they will all be able to be out weeks at a time except for really bad weather. I want to have the stable and hardly use it. I just can't decide whether or not to put sand down in the rest or leave it grass. Quote:

| Heh, she STILL loves to stretch out every night and I'm glad she does it in the stall as it means she feels very secure there. Ergo the shavings.
As for the sitting at night... sooooo convenient that I only have to go down my stairs to get there. No running through the driving rain or getting mucky feet. If I hear funny noises at night it's really quick to check out too. |

Why would you want to put sand down? Wouldn't that just present the possibility of sand colic? |

Oh...if someone moves into one of those empty stalls with a little GSD-looking thing and a Golden Ditzhund...pay no attention |
