I also think Friesians are beautiful. I like several of the draught horses as well, can't pick just one I like Shire, Clydesdale, Perchron, and Gypsy Vanner. |

So far I have only been able to pet a few Clydesdales, havent even seen a Shire before besides pictures. I actually got to see and pet a few yesterday at the 16th street mall. There was a Percheron too and it was unusual for the breed, tall and skinny, the tallest horse there (taller then the Clydesdales). |

| Re: Horses-What horse would u want? I own an American Quarter Horse mare. She's an all around horse but excels in both Jumping and reined cow horse events. I have shown her successfully in 3'6ft Jumpers, she's schooling 4ft, and has free jumped a 4'3ft oxer with a 5ft spread (with room to spare). For reined cow work, she's amazing. Her cow sense is stunning; and thus makes an excellent cutter, team penner, and boxer. Her reining skills are alright. She has a great ability to slide, roll back, fast-to-slow, and has auto-lead changes... however, she has the form of the spin down perfectly, but because she is a bigger girl and has a very wide chest, she cannot spin really fast...
This is my M.C.:
I love Quarter Horses because of their wonderful temperaments and versatility.
For my second/another horse I would like a Holsteiner (German Warmblood breed) that excels in show jumping.
This is my favorite Show Jumping horse - he's the world Champion,

If I were to get a draft cross, it would be a Percheron cross, because they are very athletic, and when mixed with a non draft breed, like Paints, QH, or TB, they make fantastic dressage, eventing, and jumping horses.
My next horse, will most likely be a Perch cross. |

| Re: Horses-What horse would u want? Clydesdales are actually the most refined out of all draft breeds. When groomed up and clipped (legs shaved) they actually look like Warmbloods or bigger boned thoroughbreds (with a larger head- lol).
Perchrons are probably one the most popular drafts breeds next to the Clydes and the Belgiums. Perchrons are most common draft breed crossed with thoroughbreds or other light horses... we had a driving pair at one of our barns and they were so lovely. Their temperaments were outstanding and despite their size they were so mellow...definitely gentle giants. |

I've ridden a Percheron/Quater and a Clyde/Thouroughbred as well as a Shire. They are fabulous, the shire was a stallion and as sweet as ANY gelding I've ever met, even with an in season mare around. |

| Re: Horses-What horse would u want? If I had my choice, I'd have 4, Akhal-Teke, Arab, Rocky Mountain, & a Paint.
For now, I have none. I grew up with a grulla QH, Shady and he was the coolest horse ever.
Make that 5, a Knabstrup too. |
