| i have been riding since i was 9 year old, and i am 21 now. i have had quite a few horses and ponies. i used to show competively for a few years, and even went to indoors and the hits (if anyone knows anything about those). but with the last few horses i had, they were just bought, trained and then sold and i have not shown in a few years now.
i have a QH yearling named milo. he is strong, and strong willed. but is learning.
i also have a horse that i just bought a few days ago named rohon.. he is a TB off the track, he is 6 but inexperienced so i am going to work with him and train him. he is about 16h and is a bay.. with no markings.. he is a sweet heart though!! hoping he wil turn into quite the hunter after training. no pics of him yet. |

| Along with my other 24 animals, my horses are one of my favorites. (other than my dogs of course! )
Molly is a Morgan/Quarter horse with a hate against geldings and a bad case of arthritis. She's about 19 years old, and has lived a great life in 4-H, retired rodeo horse, and a good friend.
But then there's Candy. She runs like lightning, her dappled self swift and gracefull. She's also an old rodeo horse, and a champion in fact. Won about one and a half dozen belt buckles, three laso's, one saddle, and new head stalls and bridels as well. She's 29 years old now, but she still acts like she's two, and faster than any horse in my 4-H group. But what stuns everyone: is that she's a Pony Of america. (POA)
I love my horses, but the time has come for me to sell, and i'm deeply sad. But I wouldn't give them to anyone, and i wouldn't dare seperate them. Where ever they go, they'll always be happy together. |

| i love Western Pleasure, Mountain Trailing, and running the barrels and poles at the rodeos. No one will ever break my love for my horses, or cage the feeling of freedom when i'm on the back of a mountain of rippling muscles under my knees. I love horse back riding and I will never stop as long as i live. |

| Re: horses I showed horses for years. I still own 2 horses but they are at a retirement place and I don't ride anymore. Well, on rare occasion I go out and jump on with a lead line and halter. It is not quite the same. I do miss it though. Now is the time of year I most enjoyed riding. In a few weeks the colors will be changing and the air is more crisp. It is just the best on horseback. Oh, my horses were all American Saddlebreds and American Warmbloods. |

I love riding, and just doing anything and everything "horse".
I have trained horses for years as well, and I think I really enjoy retraining 'broken' horses the best, because the changes that happen there are so dynamic; you can really appreciate the trust that occurs with the time and patience you put into these wonderful creatures. They give you so much when you try hard to understand them, and don't push them to the breaking point.
My current horse was one of those 'broken' 'misfit' type horses, and he has come a long long way in the year that I have had him; He has gone from a horse who, from the day I met him, had very very incomplete ground work, to a horse who will respond to the slightest touch, gesture, or wave of a finger; He is no longer afraid, and is becoming a more and more confident riding partner each time I ride. I am going to begin training for dressage as soon as I can find a saddle that will fit him. |

| Re: horses I miss riding sooooooooooooo much!!!
I started out as a clueless kid who came along with a friend to a lady's house who taught English (dressage, jumping etc....) riding. My friend...well...guess she didn't like it. The instructor took one look at me on the horse and said, "Wow!! You got The Seat!!". I didn't really understand what she meant at the time, but I was a natural...and I got hooked!
A couple years later, she wanted to put me into Jr. jumping and Dressage competition, but I chickened out. Boy, do I regret it!!! (I could go on forever about this topic...)
I can ride any horse it seems. A friend of Joe (my Fiancé) has horses, and the only horse they had that I could ride was "difficult"...but she wasn't for me. The owners wouldn't even ride her. They were amazed. Unfortunately she was Western trained...don't like that as much, but it was a chance to get on a horse.
I am still looking for someone in my area where I can brush up on my lessons for less than $75 an hour! I have dreams about it all the time. |

| Re: horses My dad and I have 3 horses. A stallion named Shalako, a mare named Playgirl, and their baby named Lady.
We went to Texas about 2 years ago to get the stallion and mare. Both have cutting and ranch working lines in them. Playgirl does cutting and roping, and Shalako does ranch work. We are hoping lady will be built like Shalako and have Playgirl's color. |
